01 / ROUTE OVERVIEW
Your journey at a glance
Many travellers come to China to see ancient palaces, giant pandas and timeless city walls. But the truest way to understand this country is through its food.
On our 10‑Day China Culinary Journey, we take you far beyond standard tourist menus, travelling across four iconic food capitals: Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu and Guangzhou.
In Beijing, you will savour world‑famous Peking duck, with its crackling golden skin, and hunt for sweet and savoury street snacks tucked away in quiet hutong lanes. In ancient Xi’an, the heart of northwest wheat culture, you will taste juicy roujiamo, chewy cold skin noodles and warming lamb paomo, even learning to stretch wide biangbiang noodles alongside local artisans.
Then we head to Chengdu, the home of numbing‑spicy Sichuan cuisine. Wander tea houses where locals idle for hours, meet gentle giant pandas, and dive into bold hot pot, mapo tofu and refreshing boboji. We always offer mild alternatives, so you can enjoy without the burn.
We finish our adventure in Guangzhou, the birthplace of yum cha. Slow down to enjoy delicate shrimp dumplings, silky rice rolls and tender siu mai, just as Cantonese families have done for generations.
This is not a packed sightseeing tour. We prioritise flavour, local family restaurants, night markets and genuine cultural moments. With a small group and an English‑speaking guide, you will eat, explore and connect.
Come travel with your taste buds. Let every bite tell you a story of China.
Taste four distinct Chinese regional cuisines: Northern, Northwest, Sichuan, Cantonese
